Professional Barista Course:

If you plan to practice within one of the many areas of the COFFEE INDUSTRY you must respond to this heightened customer sophistication by taking this Professional BARISTA Course at the beginning of your project. THE Espresso Coffee School's Professional Barista Course is a concentrated learning experience and is held during weekends. It takes up a Saturday and Sunday from 10.30am- 4.00pm each day. A CERTIFICATE of ACHIEVEMENT in BARISTA STUDIES is issued to successful candidates.
This Pro Course covers the following:
- The fundamentals of espresso coffee preparation are clearly explained and demonstrated by experienced tutors.
- You are taught how to control the factors that affect the quality of your espressos.
- Theory is presented in straight forward English- written and spoken. Pictures are used to highlight and explain. Please take notes when you can.
- Espresso shot training and milk steaming practice takes place at the work station and there's time set aside for practicing BARISTA techniques.
High quality beans, roasted to the right degree, go hand in hand with a skilled Barista using the finest burr grinder and well maintained machine, to achieve the "perfect cup".
Although roasters and equipment agents offer training, some locals admit that teaching is not their strong point- selling their product is! They come from a different perspective. In other words, their world view is different from ours.
